Concept Leader – ECU Software & Electronics

About the Position
Location: Gothenburg Assignment type: Consulting assignment Start: As soon as possible / according to agreement We are looking for an experienced Concept Leader within ECU Software and Electronics for a technically advanced engineering assignment in the automotive industry.
In this role, you will work at the intersection of ECU software, electronics and system architecture, with a strong focus on early-phase development. You will take technical ownership of concepts and help translate future product needs into feasible and robust technical solutions.
The position requires a broad understanding of both High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) electronics, combined with experience in ECU software development and complex embedded systems.
The role You will be responsible for driving technical concept work from initial requirements and feasibility assessment through analysis and verification. Working closely with specialists across software, electronics and systems engineering, you will ensure that proposed solutions meet technical, functional and project requirements.
A key part of the assignment is to provide technical direction and bring together different engineering disciplines when defining new solutions.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead concept development within ECU software and HV/LV electronics
- Evaluate technical alternatives and drive feasibility studies in early development phases
- Define and refine technical requirements together with relevant engineering teams
- Support decisions related to system architecture, interfaces and technical implementation
- Coordinate technical activities across software, electronics and system engineering
- Work closely with suppliers and internal development teams throughout the development process
- Ensure concepts consider performance, quality, cost, safety and industrialisation requirements
- Contribute to technology roadmaps, future technical solutions and engineering strategies
- Support analysis, verification and validation activities
- Act as a technical point of contact within your area of expertise
Job Requirements
Your background
We are looking for someone with a strong technical foundation who is comfortable taking ownership and guiding others in complex engineering discussions.
We believe you have:
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, Embedded Systems or a related field
- Approximately 7–10 years of relevant engineering experience
- Strong experience within ECU software development
- Good technical knowledge of both High Voltage and Low Voltage electronics
- Experience from embedded electronic systems in automotive or another complex industrial environment
- Experience with concept development and early-phase product development
- Understanding of system architecture, requirements engineering, analysis and verification
- Experience working across multiple engineering disciplines and coordinating technical stakeholders
- Ability to take technical ownership and drive decisions independently
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical topics clearly
- Professional proficiency in English
- Experience from the automotive, electrification, powertrain or e-mobility domain is highly relevant. Swedish language skills are considered an advantage.
